Indians celebrate 365 days in various ways. We all need an excuse to
celebrate 365 days with 365 types of festivals. For every situation, we
all are involved in festivals, But Mahashivratri has another emotion to
celebrate.
Mahashivratri is the most important festival in India. Mahashivratri occurs between February-March every year. Devotees are worshiping Lord Shiva the whole night on Mahashivratri. Fasting & Praying for the whole night are the main significance of the day. That’s why Mahashivratri is the most significant event on Indian Spiritual Calendar. Mahashivratri is the darkest night every year. Spiritually all things stop on & divine things are awakened on Mahashivratri.
Lord Shiva is one of the prime gods of Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu & Mahesh/Shiva) as well as Panchdev. ‘Shiv’ means welfare. According to the Hindu Puranas Lord Shiva is the easiest god to please. On the day of Mahashivratri Lord Shiva was worshiped by many devotees. Mahashivratri is celebrating on upcoming summer & the end of winter.
Mahashivratri has signified those who follow the spiritual path. Not
only that this day is also followed by ambitious people & also
family people. Mostly married & unmarried women are fasting &
performing shiv puja the whole night. Married women pray for their
prosperous married life; unmarried women pray for a husband like Lord
Shiva known as an ideal husband.

day. But the worship of Lord Shiva & chanting the ‘Om’ mantra is
meditation which gives you peace, calm & divinity. Shiva Strotram
& Chanting ‘Om’ mantra awakens your mind, body & soul. You can
feel all negative energy eliminated from your mind.
